Princess Auto Announces Canadian Energy as the Workshop Vendor of the Year

Julio Barki, buyer for the Princess Auto (PA) Workshop team, along with Michael Catalan buyer representing Auto & Repair, and Paul Theberge the Princess Auto Category Leader, would like to announce the Princess Auto Vendor of the Year award for Workshop to, Canadian Energy.

At Princess Auto it is the team’s goal to finding new programs that fit our assortment and fulfills our customer’s needs. In 2014, the Auto Repair team began the process of initiating a new program that had been presented in the past but was never successfully launched as we felt we would not be competitive with other retailers in that business. We began the process and scoped out potential Canadian vendors. One vendor stood out during the presentation process and we finally felt we were in a position to launch this new retail battery assortment.

Rob Tribe, Vice President of National Accounts for Canadian Energy, was certain about the success of their program and was fully prepared to provide PA with all the tools PA needed to ensure a successful launch. CE provided every PA store with specialty battery fixtures, custom POP materials and an in isle iPad for quick product application look up & product technical reference. CE designed a comprehensive store manual for our all PA stores as a product reference and selling tools.

As a direct to store program, CE delivers and stocks the PA store battery fixtures. During this process CE rotates stock and replaces any damaged or dated products as well as any damaged power sport boxes if required, as CE has 18 warehouse shipping facilities and a fleet of route trucks across the country PA can have multiple deliveries in the same week. This is crucial during promotional activity as PA stores do not stock any overstock in their back PA store warehouses.

In addition, CE provides promotional support, a warranty support fund and battery recycling services.  CE has also participated every year in Sponsoring our Princess Auto Charity Golf tournament as well as supporting full page advertising in the PA annual consumer catalogue.  From launch date with just one battery sold, Princess Auto is now a leading retailer in Canada within the battery category.

CE has works with our team over the past number of years and we have seen large double-digit sales growth each and every year since our launch.
